Hispaads Travel publishes practical travel information designed to help readers make better decisions before and during a trip. This editorial policy explains how topics are selected, how information is researched, how comparisons are approached and how updates are handled.
Editorial responsibility
Hispaads Travel is an independent publication. Martin Calatrava Bol is the founder, main editor and principal author. Editorial content is not controlled by a hotel chain, airline, booking platform or tourism board.
Commercial relationships or advertising do not determine the conclusion of a guide. When a relationship needs to be disclosed, it should be made clear to the reader.
How topics are chosen
We prioritize questions that travelers genuinely need to answer: where to stay, how much a trip may cost, how to compare hotel rates, how to structure an itinerary, which areas suit different travel styles and what practical limitations should be checked before booking.
A topic should add something useful beyond a generic list. That may be a comparison framework, a realistic route, a decision table, current official information, a cost method or an explanation of trade-offs.
Sources and research
Depending on the article, research may use official tourism organizations, public authorities, transport operators, hotel or airline websites, attraction websites, destination information and other relevant primary or specialist sources.
When a fact can change — such as an entry rule, fare, tax, opening arrangement, hotel policy or transport schedule — we aim to verify it against a current source and avoid presenting old information as permanent.
First-hand experience and research-based guides
We do not present research-based information as a personal travel experience. If first-hand experience is relevant, it should be described as such. Otherwise, the article should read honestly as a researched planning guide.
Hotel and travel comparisons
Hotel and booking comparisons should focus on practical differences rather than simply ranking brands. Location, room type, occupancy, cancellation rules, mandatory fees, transport, facilities and the total cost of a stay can matter more than a headline nightly rate.
When prices are shown as examples, we try to distinguish illustrative calculations from current live offers. Readers should always verify the final price and conditions before payment.
Images
Images are used to help readers understand a destination, place or travel context. Where relevant, captions or credits identify the photographer or source. Alternative text is written to describe the image meaningfully rather than repeating filenames or keyword stuffing.
Use of software and AI-assisted tools
Hispaads Travel may use software and AI-assisted tools to help organize research, identify gaps, structure drafts, improve clarity or support technical tasks. These tools are not treated as authoritative sources. Information that can materially affect a travel decision should be checked against appropriate sources, and errors should be corrected when identified.
Updates
Travel information changes frequently. Articles may be revised when transport rules, hotel policies, prices, attraction access, seasonal conditions or other practical details change. A visible “last reviewed” note may be added when the timing of the information matters.
Corrections
If we identify a material error, we aim to correct it rather than leave outdated information in place. For details, see the Hispaads Travel Corrections Policy.
